Safety Notice

All automatically controlled systems should be fitted with a safety device to prevent accidental closing.

Where safety devices are not required and the system is controlled by manual means (i.e. push buttons), a clear view of the equipment must be available to the operator to ensure it is safe to operate the system.

If an operator cannot view the equipment, BDi Security Solutions strongly recommend that some form of safety device be fitted.

Please note:

Vehicle control equipment is designed to control the flow of motor vehicles only and it may be dangerous to allow pedestrians, equestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and vehicles towing trailers to travel through the areas controlled by this equipment. We recommend that alternative access routes are provided for this type of traffic and that suitable warning and direction signs are posted on both sides of all automatically controlled barriers.

Vehicle Detector Induction Loops

Vehicle detector induction loop systems are widely used on fully automatic operations to provide a safety interlock and prevent accidental closure or the barrier arm lowering when a vehicle is present but are not designed for use by pedestrians, equestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and vehicles towing trailers.
